NEW YEAR 2012-2013

Fáilte Romhat

St.Brigid's N.S. is a mixed Catholic Primary School in the picturesque village of Clonegal, with 118 pupils on roll. The staff includes six teachers plus a shared Resource Teacher, four S.N.As – three of whom work in the Autistic Unit, a secretary and a caretaker/cleaner. Our school is co-educational, under the patronage of the Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin. The school has a strong Catholic ethos but welcomes children of all religions and none. During 2010-11, the school was awarded a School of Excellence Award from W.I.T. for Co-Operative Teaching and In-Class Support, and each year since 2007-2008 we have received a Discover Primary Science Award for Science and Maths. We have attained “Green School” status and are currently working towards our 3rd Green Flag. An After-Schools service is provided by Millview Montessori School, who collect the children at 2 and again at 3 o’clock. This service is in the local St. Brigid’s Hall and they avail of the facilities in the school grounds.

The new school year for 2012-2013 will commence on August 30th 2012. Click below to see the school calendar for the whole year.

Class size and teacher information for each class in September 2012 are now available to see on the site.

The school was awarded its third Green Flag in a ceremony held in Croke Park in May and we held a celebration in June.

A major refurbishment is taking place and two new classrooms will be built, allowing for better class ratios for this year.
